Just 400 applicants......................where's my high speed internet when I need it......

I wonder since they ask for an estimate e/t do they screen out some early applicants simply because there's too many registered in that time class already.

No, they just want the cars to be 12.99 or quicker. There are a few cars that get in that are in the 13's. If you get thru you're in, and if they kicked me out I'd be pissed.

I belive they prefer alot of cars in the same time class, as they can pick 16 that are well matched.

Think it is actually 32 cars they pick isnt it. I could be wrong...

Whenever you watch the show it seems like if you don't run 10's or quicker they don't pick your class. When was the last time you saw a show with the 16 running 12's.

I watched a show where they ran mid 11s

Pinks changed up a bit. They typically have their main run, which is a class that is picked based on how all the cars test out. They look for ET groupings that will give the best competition. They want a bunch of cars with close et's. If that happens to be in the 10 second class, then they run that class. If it happens to be in the 13 second class, then they run that class. It all depends on what cars show up. The idea of cutting it to 12.99 or faster is to cut down the number of cars that try out.

Once they figure out their group, they then pull a group of quickest cars to run heads up against each other for a heads up champ. The idea to give an incentive for the fastest cars to show up as you never know, get 25 cars running 9 seconds, and you might run in the main event.

The reason in my eyes for the 10 sec class always running is... alot of people set there cars up to run 10.0 cause once you get to 9.99 there is a bunch more rules and money to spend. So there are just a ton of 10.0 cars out there.

Good point. Hadnt thought of it like that, but had noticed the abundance of 10sec cars. Plus it requires a license of some sort doesnt it?

Chris do you currently own a 2.0L AR? I know you were supposed to be getting one. Never heard anything after that. What do you have for a bottom end and heads? I had meant to ask at the shoot out. But between yours and your dads cars, you were a busy boy...

BLOWN38
01-12-2010, 12:57 AM
Yeah 9.99 you need a cage and a license.

I do now own a 2.0 AR kit. Just pulled the m112 off the car. Think I'm gonna clean and powder some parts before I install the AR. Yeah I'm usually super busy at the track, not much time to sit back and enjoy myself.:(

My block is bored .030", h beam long rods, custom wiseco's with top and skirt coatings, SC crank, cam is 591/588 lift, coy main girdle, Dalke heads i don't think they were CNC back when I got em, NPR IC.

The registration is on the VMP page correct?

Yes It should be. usually they give you some direction on if a link is gonna pop up or something, so I don't know where on VMP's site we are gonna have to look. I been searching the site to where it might pop up but can't find anything. So I suggest refreshing the home page. And if it gets to like 5 mins after 7pm start looking elsewhere on the site.

I'd like to come up on Friday also to get some practice, as long as Dave can trailer it up then. If not you'll have to see if you can hold a couple of spots.

I believe its 35ft. It was like 150k or something crazy new a year or two ago. It is very nice and has the slide outs on both sides. Just have to be careful with it and keep it clean....Since it aint ours...You and yours are more than welcome... We can just hook a trailer to it Keith...Thats what we do for Motocross. We took it to Maysville, Nc last weekend. Its pretty sweet....
