Does anybody know where I can buy a new throttle valve cable from for my 1993 Thunderbird Super Coupe? I called up my local Ford dealership and they say they don't make them anymore.

I've done some research online and this is what i've found. Does anybody know if this will work for my supercoupe or any input on trying to use this?

Is this for an automatic or a 5 speed? I know I looked for about 3 months before I found one that would work so I have a couple sitting around so maybe we can match one up. Can you send me a picture of the old cable or better yet, I can send you a shot of what I have. Let me see if I can dig them up tonight for you and post something for you to see.

I thought only automatics have throttle valve cables because the thorttle valve cable sets the shift points for an automatic transmission?
I don't have any pictures of mine because it's still on the car.
Posting a picture of what cables you have would be great.

Well, I ordered a "U Cut to Fit" Lokar Performance throttle valve cable for an AOD transmission a couple of days ago. I'll have my friend put it on for me once I get it and I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Well I had my Lockar throttle valve cable installed today. It worked with a few little modifications done to the bracket on the throttle body.
The Good News: The cable is really easy to adjust. It's like setting shift points for dummies. :D
The Bad News: The bracket arm part that hooks to the transmission is shorter than the stock super coupe tv cable's and now my car shifts really funny. Under normal acceleration the tranny shifts @ 2100rpm from 1st-2nd, 2600rpm from 2nd-Drive, and the car doesn't shift into Overdrive until like 65 or 70mph. lol
The Future: My friend is going to do a little fabrication to it next weekend so hopefully it will shift like it did with the stock tv cable.
My Advice: It's really not worth the hassle to get this tv cable to work. Just do whatever you can to either find a new stock replacement or a used one from another super coupe.
