ok everyone check this out! Just got off the phone with one of the head honchos over at professional products. He said that he is interested in taking on the Supercoupe balancer issue.
I told him about us here on SCCoA and how we are all desperate for a quality, cheap, replacement balancer for our birds.
So far i have only talked to him about the 94-95 version. He said the tooling should not be that expensive and he should only have to make about 50 of them to get it started.
Now i think he might hesitate on this a little bit due to the very specific application.
On a side note about Pro Products and SC's. he has about 150 or so 75mm Throttle bodies that he claims to have been stuck with for a long time do to the person who requested he make them in the first place backed out of an order of 100.

HE SAYS HE WILL SELL THESE AT A SUPER DISCOUNT PRICE OF $75.00 ea. SATIN/ $85ea. Polished + SHIPPING for us on SCCoA just so he can get rid of them. I will probably buy 2 or 3 myself. So if we can help him out on clearing his inventory of these im sure it will push him to go for the balancers too!

SO CAN I GET A HOORAH FOR MAKING PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS BALANCERS!?!?!?!
lets show them that they wont be stuck with them and will be a hot seller! I would assume they would be in the range of their other balancers wich are about $50 for a non SFI and $150 for SFI, but dont quote me. ill just be happy with a cheap alternative to BHJ. im sick of searching for new balancers, they dont exist!

THE PEOPLE AT PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS CAN USE THIS TO CONTACT YOU ABOUT BUYING INTO THE BALANCERS AND THROTTLE BODIES. LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE POST.
SO POST UP ON THIS THREAD IF YOU WOULD POTENTIALLY BUY A PPR BALANCER OR THROTTLE BODY.
PLEASE MAKE YOUR FIRST SENTENCE A YES FOR BALANCERS AND SECOND A YES FOR THROTTLE BODY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. THEN PROCEED TO COMMENT. THANKS ALOT GUYS!!!!!! DOIN MY BEST FOR THE SC FAMILY

Here is the summit link for the polished TB, not sure on inventory of Polished vs. Cast alum. will find out when they get back to me, polished will prob be more $. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PFS-69232/

One more thing i forgot. Does anyone have a stock 94-95 balancer in ok condition so that they can make a copy off of it? i only have my 1 thats on my car and cant disable it for however long it takes. im honestly looking for a donation to send to them that has not spun the timing marks. If i have to pay i am willing to toss up $20 for one. I promise this is not a scam to get a cheap balancer for myself, i am really hoping to get this ball rolling. Maybe some of you can send a buck each to me or whoever is willing to sell their sample balancer if not just donate it. thanks again everyone.

Have you contacted Rock auto? Maybe talking with their inventory manager you can convice them to sell the items, Or one of the vendors here can fork out the money for them. 50 is alot to sell on one spot, not trying to be negative about it. Thank you for doing the work.

I have an early and late balancer in the basement. I checked the 93 and the elastomer is somewhat hard on one side the back side you can impress your fingernails on it. I figure you did not want it in that condition since you mentioned you had yours.

BTW the 94/95 ba;ancer also work on many other non SC 3.8 applications

And Id buy one for the heck of it..Because seriously it cant be any worse then the cheap china replacements out there now...SFI would be nice

well thats exactly what it is, is a cheap china replacement! lol, just like most other parts made nowadays. But damon, what other balancers are out there for the 94-95 that fit other 3.8's. ive looked everywhere. the 3.8 mustang balancer is NOT the same, it is counterweighted. BHJ claims the 94-95 SC and 94-95 Mustang are the same but when comparing them with DORMAN they are not even close.
https://www.dormanproducts.com/cgi-bin/vm91corp30r/item-dtl.w?sid=QczdvdPVnlfkgblQ013425398889255613&item=594-051&icrid=&clt=hwrap1&vsrch_str=594-051&vsrch_brand=ALL&vsrch_cat=ALL&st_amount=&end_amount=&start=&vfrom=&prev=&vnext=&category_list=:0

Summit lists this same dorman balancer as working with the 94-95 SC but Dorman does not, we went over this in my other post in the wanted ad's for good 94-95 balancer.

so when will the tb be available

no exact date or price. told him to get back to me with an actual selling price so i can post it up. not sure how he wants to do it either. i dont thiunk pro products actually sells direct, normally you have to buy thru a dealer, but because of the special situation im hoping they will just sell them outright. will keep posted when i get mor details. hopefully they follow thru cuz im sure this will go over well.

Thanks, I'll take one just let me know when to pay..

its not me who is actually distributing these. its the manufacturer Professional Products. I am doing one of the head reps a favor by posting up the info and getting people to post up their email adress to possibly be contacted when they are ready to pull the trigger and unload all their old stock of SC throttle bodies, Im just the middle man (making no money) just trying to get some for myself and spread the love, lol.
from what i was told he emailed one of the SCCoA owners or moderators to ask about posting up their parts as a group buy or just outright buy. we'll see what happens. Right now we need to show we are ready to buy at a discounted price.

I contacted a well known company about 3 years ago about having a balancer made. I sent them both early and late model balancers and they even went so far as to put the balancers in their catalog. I have the catalog right here with a part # and everything. But they never came through on their promise. I will call them today and see if they have any intention of ever coming through but I doubt it.

As for PP, that sounds like a good alternative for inexpensive parts. I would be happy to become a distributor for them and I do have good examples of both years that I can send for modeling. Give me a contact person and I'll get the ball rolling.

As for buying TB's, as long as they are available from PP direct for $65 I will not be able to buy any other than a couple for personal use.

As per Professional Products, and after a little back and forth, they are ready to sell to us here @ SCCoA for a very special price. Here it is

Part#69233 (75mm satin) $75 +shipping (only 109 avail. as of 2/10/10)
Part#69232 (75mm polished) $85 +shipping (only 63 avail. as of 2/10/10)

They are accepting Credit Card over the phone.
Call (323)779-2020 - speak to John or Galen. DO NOT FORGET TO MENTION YOU ARE AN SCCOA MEMBER AND ARE PURCHASING AT SPECIAL PRICE.

Their catalog says for 89-93 ----- I will be buying ONE for my 95, i dont think there is a difference between Gen1 and 2 SC's but check before buying. I will post up when i go to mount it to my 95.

Jim @ PP also wanted me to add: To our Califonia Dudes, these throttle bodies ARE emissions legal in CA! awsome considering you guys cant get away with anything over there.

Would it be worth upgrading my 70mm BBK?

Have a '94 balancer taken off in working condition that's .020 under. The BHJ that replaced it was only .010 under. You can have it for shipping costs. Didn't want to sell it to someone to flip the car.

Already have a PP throttle, works well.

are the throttle bodies worth puting on a mostly stock 93 sc set up? i have the heads mildy ported (mostly on the exhaust), and will be adding 1.8 rr's soon. I run the mustang shorty headers with a O/R x-pipe.

of course it will be worth it. Forget about price for a second, but anytime you get more air into a motor, ESPECIALLY a forced induction one its gonna make a difference.

put it this way, ill be putting one on my 95SC wich only has a catback and cold air intake. every little bit counts.

Talked to John today at PP re the group purchase on the throttle body.

Being north of the border issues arise and it sometimes takes an extra step to have things go smoothly.

Normal shipping practice is UPS for PP. This turns into a slaughter for us due to UPS's preditory pricing crossing the border. (ie a $250.00 purchase gets over $100.00 tacked on plus the frt.)

John is hand delivering my TB to the post office tommorrow to get around this issue.

Heart felt thankyou, we need this type of supplier in the chain.

Getting rarer, these firms deserve all the support we can give them.

Dude, ive only been part of the SCCoA for a very short time, I never signed up when i had my 89SC as a kid, i wish i had know about this site. everyone is awsome, super helpful and its the only place to find good parts. Just trying to get some good products out there for everyone.

This is a win win situation for everyone. Pro Products gets to clear their stale inventory and we get to buy it cheap!

BTW, thats why i hate sending stuff to canada, its such a ripoff. they really need to chill out with the price increases and fees. cool that the guy is doing that for you though.

The throttle bodies are listed for less at this store. Polished $60+14.95 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Professional-Products-69232-75MM-Throttle-Body_W0QQitemZ120519895672QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotor s_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c0f8baa78) and Satin $55+14.95 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Professional-Products-69233-75MM-Throttle-Body_W0QQitemZ120519897582QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotor s_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c0f8bb1ee) . It is probably Pro-Products freeing up some capital. I'm not the seller, but I did just buy one! Hope this helps! I would be up for a regular balancer also.

dude, the ebay store is NOT Profesional Products. From what i see they are an online parts house. Shouldnt be a problem. and hey, if anything MAYBE they will match the price. Again, I DUNNO.

Anyway, it looks like the balancer project may be underway. From what i heard i believe XR7DAVE sent them samples to model off of. I really hope this all goes thru. I did my timing cover gasket and all, went to put the balancer back on (which i knew was on its way out) and when i went to push it on, the whole friggen balance ring wiggled on the hub, by hand. bound to fly off.

If PP comes through on this I will be amazed. From what I have seen so far they don't impress me. Their dealer discounts are crap. I looked into being a vendor for them and realized with a $10,000 buy in to get any decent price I'd be making about 10% if I sell at full retail. PASS......

x2 for us 'little guys' theirs really no gain from it, especially being a spec shop, its not like we can just push their products, we don't build engines and then sell them, we get customers that want engines and then we build them exactly how the customer wants/expects
