so here is my question I think my car is missing something.

so its a 5 speed car. under the console there is carpet with a large hole in floor for shifter.

now parts were all in trunk when I got car so i am not sure.

i have a large 1/2 inch thick piece of carpet padding and a smaller 1/2 inch thick piece of padding that have ahole in them for the shifter. then the lower console and then the upper console with shift boot.

am I missing something is the large chunk of carpet padding all that fills in that hole around the shifter in the floor....

any pics would help

thanks

Sounds like you are missing the mid-rubber boot/cover, its a large piece of metal that covers the entire hole and a built in rubber boot for the shifter rod.

I agree with Ricardo. Sounds like your missing the shifter plate and boot.

Here is a pic.

I could also use a replacement lower shift boot. i have been looking for one for a long time, and now I'm back to getting serious about finding a replacement. Anyone know where a new one can be found? Or, what do you think about buying a lower shift boot to a different car and 'transplanting' the rubber to the SC metal plate?
