View Full Version : Is there anything I should do before intalling a used brake booster?

The unit that is on my XR7 right now leaks. Im not sure where yet. I do have a unit that worked fine before it was removed from its donar. It had fresh fluid in it, a new accumulator, and it didn't leak. But, it was high mileage. Is there anything I should replace before putting it in the car? I know not a whole lot of people would go into one of these, but Im not shy, so... Any suggestions?

Check the pump motor for proper operation....

Remove pressure switch and test the spring inside the unit.....

I don't know about the-big-e but I was stationed on the Enterprise a lifetime ago. I was LPO of No. 4 MMR, EM14 Division back in '83. Is she still scheduled for Decom in 2014?

Yeah, its up in the air, but more likely 2014. I don't want to upset anyone, but if they do back-to-back deployments, it should have enough fuel. That would save the transit to and from the Med once which uses a lot of fuel. Yeah, I was RM22 LPO until about 6 months ago. I have 2 months left in the Navy. Can't wait!
