See, that's the upside to being OCONUS. Plenty of money to spend on goodies. :D

Sorry to hear that happened, but hopefully you hit 300hp. I'll be well into 300 when my mods are done. All on a stock longblock as well.

be careful with that stock block.. make sure there are fresh gaskets atleast. the probable demise is the 10% od on the blower coupled with the owner after and before me running regular unleaded... cant say i didnt expect it, just irritates me that its down while i'm 15,000 miles away.

i've got ported heads, cmre stg1 cam, trick flow lengthened pushrods, a ported lower intake, ported 94/5 blower, 75mm PP TB, mk8 maf, 10% OD, a mkIV supra intercooler (3" in/out), QH tuning system and an LC1 WB02.

all is going on it with mls gaskets and arp studs, with a set of 60's and a 255lph
i'm going to possibly take a crack at compound boosting it with a remote turbo. i have a 70mm turbo from a deisel that will suffice. if that happens i will be leaving the blower at stock OD and run the blower at ~ 5 lbs with an EBC.

With all that my plan is 400, but without 300 is a solid goal.

Also, the engine was somewhere in the neighborhood of 150k. I think she was due. i'm just glad i know more about these things than i did a coupe years ago, someone would be getting a hell of a deal on a nice sc. lol.

i did only pay 500 for her though, the prev owners though the HG's were gone, turns out the ccrm failed and was making it get hot.

Please take some accountability as well. I've seen how we all drive these things.

Have fun with the custom intake

Putting new bearings and checking for bent rods? Or are you going to play the we will see what happens game.

I was just faced with this dilema not too long ago. I decided to build a short block after someones recomendation. Maybe I did not need it maybe I did but I rather play this one safe then sorry.

No worries. Longblock only has 45K miles on it, and have had HG's replaced. Not to mention, the blower upgrade is going away from the M90 and to some a little more efficient. :D

And fortunately, it'll only be like that for a few months before I head back overseas. And then I'll get the mad scientist (Dalke) to build me a motor.

will probably tryto tackle it in a two day span when i'm on leave. ordering everything i will need so no unnecessary trips to autozone. may even be able to tackle it in a days time if i dont hit any snags. we did a head swap for mike, pulled apart a car and pulled an engine in a day, didnt we? :)

It took Jim Danny Duane and I a full day to pull the motor in my 91. So I would plan 2-3 days.

if you havent gotten your heads done yet heres a good link http://www.stiegemeier.com/home.html

they did my heads and a few other things. no complaints. these guys really know what they are doing. only draw back is they take there time. so you wont get them back right away. you say what you want done these guys will do it. they are real big on fabricating parts to. so if you have any idea's, talk to them.

from what ive heard dalke does good work to. i dont think you can go wrong there. and ya, with a cam your going to want springs, make sure to let Dave know what kind of cam(specs) so he can give ya the proper springs.

ryuuunnn... i think this is where i'll be going with the mr2... rally car anyone? :D

so... i got some time here to check out the 94... started it (albeit with a jump, i think this battery is on its last leg...) ran for half an hour, temp got up just a hair past normal... but kept going. promptly shut it down, theres no coolant/oil mixing, no overpressuring the cooling system (verified with another leakdown test) and no smoke or vapor in the exhaust... hmmm...

reached under the hood, felt the radiator... stone cold... felt the upper hose... same. lower hose... lukewarm.... hmmmmmm.....

so... changing the thermostat now. ;) will be doing a test run to verify results. only other thing i could think of is a clogged up radiator... which is still very possible seeing as how this one is coated in limescale.

anyone know of anywhere that tanks radiators?
