Larger IC pipes

Did some searching and couldn't find any details and results for anyone trying a double intercooler with larger 2.75" pipes in/out...just wondering if it is beneficial to open the in/out on the DIC and use custom 2.75" pipes?

I have an MPx 25%, raised top, 85TB...etc
