Battery Light Blinks

My battery light intermittently blinks on and off about 1 second between each blink. Sometimes it only blinks once, other times it blinks 30 seconds. Every time the light blinks interior lights dim, but my battery has never died. I almost feel like something shorted out is turning on and off. Any ideas?

I'd be looking more toward Alternator more specifically the the voltage regulator.

They can test that at autozone?

They should be able to see if it is charging but if its intermittent will be difficult.
