Heater hoses

I've just replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 90' SC and have a question about the heater hoses that are crimped on the formed tubing that tie on to the block. Knowing that you probably cannot get new factory tubing with hoses crimped on, can the crimps be cut off and a new hose piece be clamped in place? Is there a bulge in the tubing for securing the hose under the crimp?
The old bird is the best road car I've ever had.

Thanks, Harold from PA

Yes those crimps can be cut off and new hoses without them be put in place. There are bumps under the crimps to retain the hoses properly just using regular hose clamps.

Thanks a lot! You guys are great for all the advice. I like to know what I'm in for in advance.
