5 spd EEC going bad

The auto shop told me after testing that my eec is getting faulty internal voltage and needs to be replaced. So will any 5 spd sc eec work between 89-93 or only certain years? My current EEC has an old eec tuner on it, hope thats not causing the problem.

If you have an old piggyback tuner on the EEC it could be the tuner thats NG. If you change the EEC it will need to be the same alpha numeric code. Like mine is c0s, the three digit code is on the EEC. On the early cars the EEC does not effect the trans. My EEC is for an auto trans car, I converted the car to a stick. You might want to look into a new tuner before you chuck the EEC, the new Moates Quarter Horse ROCKS!!
