I stole the picture off the board so that's why there are two. I wanted to show the exact pulley/hub everyone would be receiving.

Duane,

That doesn't explain why I have two. Is it supposed to come with two?

Nettlesd
04-28-2010, 05:53 PM
No, but I bet the original owner ended up with two because of some mix up in the part. So, they ended up with two pulleys and one hub. If it's the set I'm thinking of, Thomas Aden originally had it and ended up selling it before it got passed around again. Then again, maybe this is a different set.

Since this is a pulley/hub, it allows you to install the hub on the Power Steering pump and install/remove the pulley whenever you want.

Will this in turn allow for the removal of the pump without taking off the hub ?

seems like there are a few people on the fence waiting for the $167.29 price break including me. is there any reason why we arnt waiting for more people to commit?

Nettlesd
05-12-2010, 10:11 AM
Because we have to set some type of time limit on the group purchase. I think 3 weeks is amply time to determine if you want one or not. I also don't want Heartland waiting 2 months for us to make up our minds and then still only have 10 orders.

If you want one, this would be the time to get one. If we can barely get to 10 orders this time around, I doubt they will produce them again in the future for us.

The first post says the GP ends on May 14 and most GP's only last 30 days.

If people really wanted one they would have already posted up. If there is no more interest than what has been shown the GP won't make it to 20 for the $167 price break anyways.

Duane went out of his way to contact Heartland about doing these.
I loaned him the one that I had so Heartland could could verify measurements.
We had one member really step up and put in for 3 and that put the GP at 10.
Now he can't even get some people who committed to the 10 to answer the PM's he has sent them.
A couple of them were on the forum this morning so.....
I have to agree with him, they probably won't want to talk to us about any of the other pieces we were thinking about having them do.

Duane, Jim... I understand your frustration at not getting the turnout you wanted on this GP (see my GP), but the lack of support might not be from lack of interest, but lack of funds. You opened this deal on the tails of a bunch of expensive group buys and set a close date shortly after. I bet if this was open longer or the timing different, you'd have more people signing up.

We based it off the normal run time of GP's here and trying to get the order in ahead of the coming increases in material and labor costs.

There were others interested but only if the price was at the 20 price.

Yeah, there were a couple of expensive group buys ahead of ours but we jumped when we had the chance and so be it.

Totally understand. As Jim pointed out, when the shop is willing to produce them and ready to do it, well, you just have to jump at that chance. That's what we did. Timing is awful but it does appear we will get some produced.

I really do wish we could get to 20 but I don't think that will happen.

Put me down for one. Was on the fence, but it looks cool and pulling the stock pulley off the P/S pump is a Pain even with a good puller set.

Can I use toothpaste to polish the pulley periodically.
