Pretty interesting. Punch it from a dead stop & it acts like a typical V6. Probably wouldn't break the tires loose. But around 3500 rpm it REALLY wakes up! I let it redline shift it (6800) all the way to 85 or 90 mph. Not your mom & dad's V6 for sure! It's advertised at 305 hp & that exactly what it felt like.

Yep, no "Government Motors" cars for me. I'm Ford thru & thru. The dealership promised me the 1st drive when the new 5.0 GT comes in, which with 412 hp ought to smoke the new Camaro.

Nah. I wouldn't mind to be their detailer, but they've got a contract with somebody. That car was pretty fun to drive. Once the revs got up it pulled like my Mach, which is an auto too. But the Mach has way more low end tq.

Road and Track got a 13.7 @ 104 out of the V6 and a 12.8 @ 110 out of the V8 Mustang. Ford really delivered this time around (finally after 40 years!). The v6 Mustang thoroughly whups up on the V6 Camaro, but the V8 cars are neck and neck. The Mustang is technologically far superior to the Camaro though in the engine department. Can't wait until someone twin turbo's one.

PS. Camaro land people are already crying foul on the new Mustang. :D

That would be a cool unit!

and BOOOHOOO!!! Let the Little Boys play with their Bowties!
I would like to see the new Taurus SHO set up in the Mustang (NOT the FWD aspect of it) maybe in an AWD?

Well I'm not a ford fan boy lol. I myself like individual cars not just the maker , The new Camaro just looks better to me  .. I think not sure but i read some where or see it on power TV the cam handles better .

NO BODY PULL OUT A GUN NOW lol.

The Camaro looks cool, but I just don't think I could own a car with gunslit windows like that. Not that the Mustang is airy inside either. But you don't see me buying either one. Maybe as a 4th car (i.e., not driven everyday) I would buy one of them. You know, if cost was no object. At the moment, I am trying to get our 2nd car running.

I think it was either Road & Track or Car & Driver that did a road test on the 2010 Mustang, Camaro, & Challenger last year. The Mustang won just about every category besides the brute hp ones. (& the new 5.0 should fix that) The Mustang won out as their favorite overall despite giving up over 100hp.
The new engines are what really impress me. I bought my 2009 GT because I couldn't stand the angled tail lights on the 2010.

Amen Brother...................those crappy tail lights on the 2010+ are keeping me from buying a new Mustang.

If I had the money I would buy both. I really like the way government motors styled the Camro, Ford really did not go all out on the body to me I was expecting a lot more but its still a beast .

Yep, them & those cheap looking black plastic moldings along the bottom. They're harder to see on a black car, so that's the only way I'd go.

I have not looked real close at the body lines in the rear. I was wondering the possibility of use a 09 rear bumper and tail lights on a 2010 style Mustang.

Totally different lines on all the body panels, so I don't see how that would work. Sure would be nice if it would though.

I'd love to see what that DOHC 3.7 could do with a little forced induction! That 6 is an impressive little plant for sure. It looked kinda funny in the Stang's big engine bay after being used to my 4.6.

We just had a 2011 V6 auto ragtop come in on Friday at my dealership. Oener came back with the keys and a dealer plate, I wasn't going to say no to a test drive. Nice package, I'd love to try a coupe with the manual trans.

cheers
