glad you could get it off... looking at that timing cover bore looks a little rough. You will probably want to put some rtv on the outside of the seal housing when you pop it in there. I'd throw throw the new seal in the freezer for a couple hours to shrink it up a bit before you try to slam it in. Then put some rtv around the outside to limit any oil migration from the timing cover.

Make sure you got the right damper. A guy over on TCCOA just got suckered into buying an externally balanced damper by O'Reilly's who SWORE it was the correct part.

Good work.

Saving this for future reference.

I have one non-broken balancer that I cannot get off. Making me crazy.

Just repaired my old HB using.. thats right, you guessed it.. Black Silicon RTV  which is the best thing since Duct tape. I buy it in the caulk size tube.

Yes.. thats correct.. I REUSED my original repaired balancer. However, since the problem with old balancers is wear on the aluminum hub causing it to creep forward and snap off the main bolt, I used yet more RTV on the inside. The idea is that the RTV will make up the gap from the wear and also absorb the residual vibration thus preventing the HB from walking.
I'll let you all know the results in about 5-10k miles as thats normally about all you can get from a used balancer.

When you guys are attempting to pulling the HB off, be sure you're using the flat base on the forcing screw and that its seated on the tip of the crankshaft and not the ring of the HB itself.

I don't really see an issue here....

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've reused the same HB on three different SC engines and AFAIK, it is still running....
