What's normal driving coolant temperature?

I've installed an Auto Meter water temp gauge.
Is 80-85 degrees Celsius (175-185 F) normal for "normal" driving?
Thanks

Hey Dzmitry

Presume your running a 180 thermostat.

With our weather the last couple of days your probably getting an accuate reading. With car moving probably plenty of circulation to keep it right around thermostat temp.

Watch when you get hung up in traffic with some warmer weather. I would think you'll see some mid to high 190's as system losses ground to heat soak.

If gauge is accurate you will almost see the thermostat open as car warms up and the colder rush of rad fluid enters the engine.
