Here's the link to the website. Check it out for the details.
This episode is supposed to be aired on Speed Channel in Oct or Nov thru Dec. It's a series being done at about 5 or 6 or so different tracks around the country. I'm running in the 13.0 index. With the new Auburn 3.73 I'm running close but I'll need to run a 13.00 probably to win. So to pick up a little something extra, upon consulting with XR7 Dave, I bought 2 bottles of Nitro Boost from him for a little pick me up. I'll run it half strength for my 1st time trial qualifier and see what it does and go from there. Snow says 30-50hp with 1 bottle per 1.5L reservior. My headgaskets are only a couple of years old with not too many miles or 1/4mi passes and my water temps never go over 180. I'll run my less aggressive tune with less timing and a/f < 12 so I'm not anticipating any problems. We're going to be running a 500 pro tree so I've been working on my practice tree. There's $1000 and a Wally to win.

Sounds like a plan Mike. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. And remember the "it's not quite official yet Official SCCOA racing team slogan" rear window decal, "4000lb V6" :D

It was hot and humid today, oppressive at times. My under the canopy thermometer showed as high as 109 but eventually settled into the mid 90's by 6pm. We made 3 qualifing passes and some 12 and 11 second cars ended up in our group, 13.00, because the other classes were sold out, 40 to a group. Our first run was at 9:01am, 85 d and 70% humidity. I didn't know what to expect with 1/2 bottle of Nitroboost in the boost cooler fluid but apparently it was too much because half way down the track I could feel it pull back the timing and lose a little power. A bog on the start didn't help and I only ran a 13.66. 2nd run at 3:08 w/ 98 d and 40% humidity. I only put in a half reservoir of the nitro mixed boost fluid so I filled it the rest of the way with straight 50/50 meth/h20, switched my tune to full race, and ran a 13.100 @ 104.48 w/1.830 60'. That's more like it. Next pass was at 6:10, I ran the same combo, and ran a 13.115 @ 104.77 but my 60' time was only a 1.921 so a little better launch w/1.8 60' and it would've been a 13.0 something. BTW, I took out a GT500 on that pass.:D There were several 13.0x's and I think I'm about 10th in qualifying but won't know till tomorrow. Lots of fast cars, Pro Mods, 10.5 Outlaws, etc. Quickest pass of the day was a Pro Mod 1/8mi, 4.17 @ 175mph. Every once in awhile there would be a break in the action while the TV crew did some taping or they cleaned up an oil down. Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter and we have eliminations. Open match ups 1st round and a ladder from then on. Hopefully, in 1st round I'll catch a slower competitor or one of the 12 or 11 sec cars and push him out the back door.

Good luck Mike! I hate them hot days. Your right there get some good lights and you'll knock em out.

Well, I went out in the 1st round. I had to run one of those much quicker cars and I was hoping that I could run real close and push him out the back door but I ran a 13.219 w/1.846 60' and left him plenty of room to slip in for a win. It was a metallic purple 55 Chivalay that had a 466 w/nitrous. He didn't run the nitrous. I was a little slow from the weather. The density altitude was 3300', temp 95, and RH 50%. Cooler temps with a morning run and I might could have pulled it off but we didn't run until noon. I did get on camera a couple of times during the opening ceremony so hopefully my SCCoA T-shirt will get some air time.

It is rough to run a 13.00 bracket if your car can't beat that bracket regularly. Too many faster cars like to show up and dial in the pedal.

At least it sounds like you were able to have a fun time and anytime you can get the car down the track and not have a failure is a good time.
