IC piping gasket really necessary? Replacing engine mounts...

Is it necessary to purchase the re-usable teflon IC tube gaskets, or, will the orange RTV sealant work just as well? I ask because I am getting ready to do my engine mounts, which I have done before on previous SC's, and am going to go the route of removing the accessory brackets and IC tubes. In the past, I did everything from below, and that was not any amount of fun at all. I am replacing my mounts with solid rubber versions. Anyone?

The teflon gaskets are great, you can reuse them time and time again.

MM's i've only done once, and I went the route of taking the accessory brackets off, and the IC piping......wasn't terrible, but seemed much easier then having to do it from under, and dropping the K-member
