View Full Version : Pics of 96-97 front end on the '94 SC

Picked up a '96 parts car last week, and transferred the front end to the '94 SC, which had been damaged from the previous owner.

I think i'll keep my eye open for another '94 bumper though, I'm not sure if I like the '97 bumper with the rest of the SC body. But the headlights and hood I definitly like!!

Either way, it looks better than before. I also removed the fugly, poor fitting wing the previous owner had installed.

What's wrong with the '94 bumper that was on it, it looks fine in the picture?

It is cracked on the driver's side of the bird, and below the driver's side of the air scoop. Hard to see, but its there.. Plus the bumper was rattle can re-painted by the previous owner at one point, same color, just not shiny like the hood.

I eventually will have the whole car re-painted with a nice base/clear job, as the car has lots of clear-coat peeling. When I do that, I'll grab another '94-95 bumper from the junkyard as opposed to repairing this one. In the meantime, this looks nicer. The difference is much more dramatic in person, the camera doesn't pick up the imperfections.

Okay now make a ball with your fist and punch yourself in the face.

Looks good but what happened to selling it? You're a bird junkie :)

Now you have three birds when not too long ago you were going to sell your black one?

So you want to buy this 94 block back from me? 1/2 price! You know you want to build another 345RWHP monster! Seriously, I will never use it.

What else you need? I have some 89 heads, good shape untouched.

Your turn to buy some SC parts from me! :D

That was weird.

The 97 front end looks good .. I had one on my 1994 SC, but it just doesnt match the rest of the car, so I went back to the 1994 front bumper.

I am a firm believer in a car retaining as much "value" as possible. Now I am all about making a car you own, customizing it to your likes but I am always careful not to go to far. Wheels, hoods and mods can all be easily undone so long as you retain the original parts. I almost considered the 96-97 conversion but it's a lot of work and I don't feel it adds that much to the looks of the car. Due to the low production numbers, I am in it for the long haul with my 95, 5 speed so my plans are to keep it mostly stock with minor mods to suit my taste. Since we are all owners here we know what these cars mean to us. I truely believe that these cars will be very desirable in the collector car market in the future.

I know to each their own but... I am not a fan of that nose.

Heck I am not even a fan of the 94-95 nose either.

Fell in love with the 89-92 and still in love with it.

I can't stand the 96-97 nose on an SC. I cant stand the 96-97 nose period. I get what you are trying to do but i think the original nose (with its flaws) looks better than what you have on it. It doesn't match any of the lines. Ohh and just kidding about the punching yourself in the face.

What a good fitting '97 hood and headlight assembly can do to a '94. You either like the look or not.

Ok, after seeing IRA's car I am SOLD on keeping the hood and headlights, and going back to the '94/95 bumper.

 that looks fantastic!

Anyone know of a silver car with that setup?

I like the look of the stock 94/95 front end but if I were to ever change it, it would be like Ira's set up, just my 2 cents.
