Removing Door Panel

Is there anything special I need to know about it? Where/what are the fasteners holding it on? Anything special I need to get it off w/o damaging anything?

Depends on the year, but three things:

1) Gen1 cars, there's a screw by the light at the bottom of the door - Gen2, it's inside the reflector pocket for that light.

2) Under the door cups on the Gen1s is a screw.

3) The switch panel on Gen1s either has one screw to pull up, or pulls up and releases clips.

4) For Gen1s, the plastic piece at the top of the door (with one screw) comes off.

For Gen 2s, it's a bit different, but basically the same.

After all the screws are out, you pull UP on the door - NOT OFF, but UP.

It then releases and you remove the door panel.

See http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showpost.php?p=875086&postcount=8 for a few more details.

But basically what I said. The switch panel comes out, there's a screw in the light and at the upper front side of the door panel, and it lifts UP to come off, not STRAIGHT off.

I went through the process, today. Rebuilt the window regulator gears & cams. As I read on here, there is one screw behind the reflector and one bolt behind the switch panel.

Over-all, the job was done in just short of an hour.

Thanks for the help, guys!
