Since I seriously doubt my car will ever need to be concerned with freezing the throttle plate in cold weather, can I eliminate the coolant lines to and from the throttle body without adversely effecting anything? Do they serve any other purpose?
So that means I can eliminate that small diameter coolant line coming from the driver's side to the passenger side that runs along the back of the engine right?
I pulled off all of my coolant hoses except for the oil cooler. My heater core started leaking so I initially just bypassed it. Eventually pulled off everything just for simplicity of maintenance and it really cleaned up the bay. I also believe the TB hoses are just for throttle valve anti icing. I havn't had any problems since the mod a few years ago. I did have to pick up a new piece of hose to run from the waterpump to the oil cooler.
