I'm in the process of R&R the HGs on my 89 5-speed....

When I pulled her up to the garage to start work, I had a hard brake pedal....:mad:

I figured that now would be a good time to find out what was wrong and fix them.....

Pump motor tested fine.....:D

All wiring was tested and they were fine.....:D

Relay tested fine....:D

Still no brakes....:mad::mad::mad:

Then I looked at the 5 male prongs on the relay....

There was a heavy coating of dried out dielectric grease on the prongs.....

I cleaned them up the best I could, re-installed the relay, and the pump motor started working.....:D:D:D

Eddie, I've run into this problem too. On one of the local guy's SC the contacts had turned green. A little brake parts cleaner spray and it was back in operation. Whenever somebody brings me an SC with a hard brake pedal and both lights on I take a steel rod and hit the ABS relay with it real hard and half the time the pump will start running.
