Which is the octane plug on a 94 and 95 there are two identical pills on side by side. Which one is which and what does the other do?

The other one is SPOUT, locks the timing @ 10 degrees BTDC.

The red circle is around the SPOUT plug, the green circle is around the octane plug.

I relocated my DIS to avoid contact with my intake tube.

What is the purpose for locking it? For diagnostics?

I suppose.

BTW, I had them reversed, I corrected my post with the picture.

Pulling the spout plug effectively disconnects the EEC-IV from the EDIS module thus removing any timing adjustment input from the EEC-IV to the EDIS. The EDIS, without the data will lock timing at 10 degrees before TDC.

So yes, diagnostics, checking base timing, things were you don't want the EEC messing with timing.
