Temp too low?

My coolant temp seems to stay around 170*...I have a 180* tstat and a griffin super rad.

Are my ECTs too low?

What are you measuring the temperature with? Driving around and/or sitting in traffic?

If you have a 180°F t'stat and you're only getting to 170°F in this weather, you must have a miracle setup....or too much coolant bypassing the t'stat. :p:D

I was measuring with a scan tool and actually measuring IATs at the time so I was hammering it out and we never saw ECTs above 175*

I would have to say that it just about has to be one of the following:

1) Radiator fan is on too early, or on all the time
2) T-stat is stuck open

My setup is quite different, but I would still expect your car to gradually warm up past 180°F

well dave has tuned my chip for my setup so when i send hime the chip foir some more fine tuning I'll mention it and see what he thinks...I would have to guess that out of the 2 problems it would be the tstat, but I wont know until I diagnose...

I mainly wanted to know if ~170* was normal or not

He changed my low speed fan turn-on temperature to 190°F on my base tune (with knowledge of my 180°F thermostat). - If that helps any.
