View Full Version : Clutch Master Cylinder rod removal

Anyone know how far back in there you have to go to get the clips to let go of the rod? Any ideas on what to use? My fuel line disconnect isn't long enough. I am assuming it's a 5/16, but I can't find my 1/4 to try.

Input would help. Need to have this running to drive 300 miles tomorrow. I can't swap out the entire unit at this time, but I can do the rod.

In the past dealership plastic plates have been cut down to get in there. I thought an ice cream bucket lid would be consistent with that thickness, but it doesn't seem to want to release. From what I can feel it seems to be about an inch inside the seal.

Ever do this?

Sounds like he's talking about removing the clutch line, from the slave cylinder, and not the rod on the pedal from the actual clutch master cylinder. The rod just pulls straight out of MC.

For the slave cylinder line, I just measured out and cut a length off of a worm gear clamp, formed it to the line, then pushed it in there.
