A few of us St. Louis guys went over to Gateway last night for the last test n tune session. My goal for the night was to beat my previous best of a 12.782@107.25 MPH (set at the 2009 SC/XR7 Shootout).

I ran 17 psi in the slicks and set the shift points to 6500 rpm for the first pass, which netted a 12.671@109.03 MPH with a 1.818 60'. I dropped the air pressure in the slicks down to 16 psi and lowered the TC lockup point in second gear by 1.5 MPH. Everything else was left alone for the second (and last) pass. I was pleasantly suprised by a two-tenths drop and one MPH gain just from those two changes, putting a 12.484@110.36 MPH on the board. The 60' dropped to 1.781 on that pass. The DA hovered around 1000' all night, with the actual corrected ET's being 12.53@110.23 MPH and 12.36@111.43 MPH.

I'm still working out the bugs. I need to go to a larger methanol nozzle, as the ACT's are still hitting 215-220 by the time I'm in third, causing the tune to pull a ton of timing and not making the power it should in the second eighth. I also need to have the opportunity to run more than just two passes per outing. I know I can drop the ET more with a few tweaks to the tune, but I need to be able to make more than two passes in a row to see if I'm changing things in the right direction.

Anyway, I'm still pleased. Here's a vid:

Congrats again Rod. I just wish it wasn't such a cluster at the track and I could have watched some racing.

Thanks everybody. I have plans that should up the power level a bit over the winter. I just hope Gateway opens back up next year.

Nice run--but too bad we can't launch like that Chevelle! Hope to see your car even faster at the shootout next year.

Thanks peeps. :) The plan is to hop up to a 625 ml/min nozzle to try to cure the high ACT's so that the car doesn't fall on its face in the second eighth mile, and to swap out the stock 96-98 Cobra throttle body for a Accufab big oval. As it is now, boost is dropping off 1 psi per 1K rpm above 5000 rpm. Considering that I'm between 4800 - 6800 rpm all the way down the track, swapping the throttle body should have a pretty decent effect on E.T.'s.

Do you need a 03-04 single blade TB. I have one for sale.

Can you send some pics and a price to rodsv6cougar@cs.com? I'm looking for the SCTB96-98 from Accufab, though I've heard that the 03-04 Cobra one is the same, just that it comes with an inlet plenum (which I'd have no use for). Pics should be able to tell me whether or not it would work.

I'll get you some pics. I don't recall which one I ordered for the marauder. I do believe it is the sctb96-98.

I thought you were going to grab that $19 one off eBay.

If it is the SCTB96-98, I'm definitely interested. Shipping would be to 63052.

Put a damn intercooler on that thing. You should be making 600rwhp with that KB.

Look who's talking.

And ya, put an intercooler on that thing for pete's sake. Well, not for peter dennis' sake, but at least do it. :p

I think it would work, but it's hard to tell from the pics. It looks like it is the same as a 96-98, just flipped 180 degrees. Could you send me a good pic of the side where the throttle cables hook up? Do you know the part number for the one you have there?

If I could buy one, it would already be on there. Home ownership, work, women, and side jobs have seriously put a damper on my fab time. Heck, I don't think I've even touched my mill in six months. :(

Why can't you buy the '03 Cobra discharge plate and the stock intercooler core?

You can buy adapter plates.

Cars come first, Rod!.

Just sent you a PM about the throttle body.

And yeah Casey, I have the "B" heads. The only intercoolers out there are for the "C" heads. Adapters won't work in this case. Basically, if I want an intercooler, my options are to build my own or change everything from the heads up.
