What is the stock torque rating of an AOD from a SC?

About how much should it cost to have a shop build one to handle the power of a mild 460?

I'm swapping a 460 into my Ranger and I'm thinking about using an AOD instead of the C6 so I'll have overdrive, making it possible to have 3.73 gears and still drive on the highway.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the kits used to bolt an AOD to a 460?

YUP!
Small block AOD bell housing will not bolt up to the big block 429/460.

If you are not adding monster power an AOD will handle the power.
If you were doing it because you have it laying around, nope!
Need to look for a truck 460 AOD tranny, PLENTY of them around from the 80s/90s.

so long as you get a bellhousing conversion i would think it could handle a 460. not sure though. ill crack into my external hd tonight and see if i can come up with some specs.

There are adapter plates to mount it, however if I were going to do the conversion I would jump ahead to the 4r70w or 4r75. Cable combinations for tjhe aod and 460 are aftermarket only and we all know that an improperly adjusted cable will ruin an aod quickly.
