20 pounds including shipping I take it? Thanks... think I'm going to replace my wheels, finally got home to see my car and the used car dealer that it was bought from (I'm assuming) but S rated tires on the thing <GRR!> So I might as well replace the wheel and tires.

I just put a 95 wheel on the meter and it rang up 25 lbs. and that is withthe center cap on and no shipping box.... Maybe a early wheel is less or something, but I did it on a balance scale... Just food for thinking....Rich P.S. anyone want some 95 wheels???set of four ready to go....

I didn't think that the stock wheels weighed in so much....

So in other words, stock 95' wheels without tires wieghed in around 25lbs!??!

There is alot of unsprung weight to be saved here.....

I've weighed an 89-92 SC wheel on a digital scale, 21 pounds.

Definately good to be back Scott. Although at some point I'd like to figure out what my new (significantly reduced) income amounts too... it was nice having a steady check!

unfortunately the wheels I wanted appear to be fwd only :-( since I know that there are oodles of them out there, can anyone give me the weight on Cobra 17" replicas ? They look good, but if they are heavier than stock it will definately require some thought before switching over.

What is the smallest size forged alluminum wheel available? It seems like this process produces the lightest wheel, but I have only seen them in 19" sizes or bigger. I assume the stocks are cast.

I was looking into getting the CENTERLINE ROTARY FORGED rims. But unfourtunatly, they only come in a 17x7" size with a 42mm offset. The offset would work ok, but trying to fit a significantly larger footprint onto the ground with a 245 or 255 series rubber 17" tire, would prove to be more of a hinderance than anything else.

I do have to admit that they weigh in at 13.5lbs each and I was quoted a price of $261 shipping included from arizona to NY.

I have to continue research into this subject, perhaps there is a better alternative that is still lightweight, but is slightly wider allowing the wider contact patch to be used and doesn't cost an arm and a leg...oh and it's available in the 4x.25" bolt pattern.
