I picked up a '97 Mark VIII from Fredericksburg today. The car is in pretty good shape, inside and out, and runs smooth as silk. It has 111k and I paid $1500. I think the price was pretty damn good and I very pleased. I looked at other Mark VIII's that were 5k plus and they didn't look near this nice. Since I was down to just my truck and a motorcycle for daily transportation I decided I needed a car and I've always been fond of these cars, now I have one...:D

Wow! Why so cheap? Clear title or Salvage? That is a great find...

Beats me, he was originally asking $2200 OBO & I got him down to $1500, the title is clear. The car doesn't drip a drop of any fluids and although it's not perfect it's pretty nice. It'll do what I want it to do which is be a daily driver. It has a couple of small items that I need to address but they won't keep me from driving it.

Does the heat work? Maybe he got quoted the estimate to replace the blend door actuator and decided to unload it. Either way, nice find. Also that color is 97 only, and is pretty rare. Just too bad it isn't an LSC, but for $1500 its still an awesome deal!

I fixxed the blend door actuator on my wife's Tbird. The labor part is not bad when you reach through the vents to do it.

He told me everything worked but the cigarette lighter and so far everything I've checked is working to include the blend door. I wanted a LSC but this one will do, a LSC would had made me want to hotrod it so maybe it's better that I got this one which is staying 100% stock.

You should at least do gears and a J-mod to it. That will make the car a lot more fun to drive.

Nice find, & what the he11 is a blend door actuator?

It blends the hot and cold sides of the heater box so you get the temp you ask for.

You have to take the dash out normally to relpace it.

I put new spark plugs in it, 7 were the original Motorcrafts..., and 1 COP and it runs pretty darn smooth. Clean up the interior/exterior and it looks real nice. Under the hood could use a little TLC though.....whenever I get to it.

On a side note I ordered my rollbar today..........:D

Well, I used to have one. Not putting one on my current toy, at least not while it's still under warranty!

It's nice to see hood lift struts on a car again. I can't believe Ford doesn't put them on Mustangs.

Looks pretty nice my friend. I do love the plushness of the interior, the smooth ride, the sound of a V-8 but I'm still learning how to operate all of the bells and whistles this thing has......
