AOD Tranny - Bolt Patter Question.

AOD bell housing fit - I have a guy wants to sell me an AOD from a 4.6. Are the bolt patters the same for all engines on an AOD or do they differ for application? Also, are there tail shaft considerations I need to deal with?
I have a 90 XR7 with a slipping AOD.

He does not have a AOD with a 4.6 unless it was has a custom bellhouseing. It could be a AOD-E which is a 4R70W with a different gear set used in the Crown Vics and Mustangs 94-95.

Personally if he doesn't know what he has I wouldn't buy it from him.

All aod are windsor pattern, even the 4.6 ones that was a special 4.6 with the windsor pattern.
