Harmonic Balancer

it came to my attention that with running higher than stock hp that im risking still using the original harmonic balancer. there are no problems with it as i speak but ive also gathered tit can snap at any time. well heres my question. dorman has 1 available via auto zone: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...ByKeyWord=Harmonic+Balancer&fromString=search

does it really matter which 1 i use? the prices are near the same so im just looking for opions at which is better and will last longer. ive also heard that the bhj requires some minor mods to an aluminum crank pulley when installing an underdrive set, is this true and if so what are the mods?

tools to use, i have a puller, from what i gather, these things are touchy. do i want to use just a ratchet or will an impact wrench on the puller work just fine?

and last question, i have always had problems with the engine not warming up in the winter and is very good staying cool in the summer. with my past engine and the rebuilt engine. will this underdrive set: http://supercoupeperformance.com/partBrowser.aspx?partId=108 give it a better possibilty to get to operating temps in the winter (20f and below) without starving for coolant volume in the summer?

as it stands atm if temps go much below 20f i will never see temps higher than 162ect via q-horse. 30-50ish it will stay smack on 180F. above that it will go to 194 when the fan kicks on and drop to 180f, which the fan shuts off at 184 but temps still fall to 180-181f.

all the temps are highway driving. not at all how it runs in city driving or idle. for both idle and city drive normal operating temp has never been an issue.

Well I can vouch for Dorman units being sold with terribly pulleys that will cause it to break again in like 4 weeks... At least thats what happened with mine. I'd recommend getting the BHJ. I haven't got one yet, but they say its pretty much bullet proof.
