I know that we have firm ride, and when I use it I can tell the difference in steering, but is it true that it lowers the rear end? Anyone educated in this sort of thing? I just wanna know the purpose and all the happens when firm ride is on....

Ride height is determined by your springs. so no, firm setting doesn't change ride height. The firm setting changes the rebound rate of the shock. So it won't compress so easily.

You may be thinking of the Lincolns which came with air bags for an adjustable ride height.
