Mystery Part

Help! I just installed my newly rebuilt AOD
into my 90 XR7 tonight and can't find where
this part goes (see pics). I don't remember
removing it so I believe it either popped off
of something (rear end?) or was attached to a
component and came loose. It had road grime on
the smooth rounded side and the two clips projecting
are offset in height to each other by about an inch.
I went over everything I could see and this items
proper location completely evades me. I'm thinking
it's a sensor protector....but where?

Has ford part# E9SC-9B078-AA stamped on it.
Google tells me to GFY.

Any help would be appreciated. Strat

i got a buddy at ford i can ask on monday. send me a reminder if no1 else has answered before then.

It clips onto the IRS subframe right above the pinion flange on the diff. I think it is intended to keep water and dirt off the pinion or something.

Mystery Part - Solved

Gents,

Thank you!

The feeling you get when you have extra parts and don't know where they go is right up there with losing money.
