I need to buy a Water Pump for the rebuild.

Looking for recommendations or brands to stay away from.

O'Reilly's has a NEW MasterPro Select for $60.
Rock Auto has MANY different brands (both new and rebuilt) all of which are cheaper than the O'Reilly's price.

your thoughts???

Well, if you want to stay OEM you can snag up an original waterpump over at vintage parts.

FOMOCO part # = F3SZ8501A

I've used the cheapest one I could find at the local auto store and had success. Motorcraft and acdelco make good stuff, if that helps.

I have an O'reilly one and no problems yet. Advantage on those versus the ones bought on-line, they go bad and you can go back to O'reilly's and get a new one under warranty that same day. Little down time if you ask me. Just my 2 cents worth.

I've only used Ford pumps, not by design but only had one go out and was a warranty item.

Same here with the oreilly unit. Bought the new one though, not the reman. Even if it doesnt last too long, these cars are fun to work on.
