Been getting the car back together, and putting plates back on this week, Still need to put the AC line back on, put back the AC compressor clutch components, and charge it up. Lower the rear end a little by taking one set of Poly spring bushings. And get an alignment.

The winter repairs seem to have been working out ok.

I had a little mishap with the ZEX nitrous controller so I am sending that out to get fixed. But I dont need it till I line up next to Corey anyhow. But the car is almost spring ready and although slow for now it will make it, hopefully, to the premier of FAST 5. Last time the Parking lot of the theatre turned into a car show. I hope this year is the same. If anything ill WOT after the movie and make belief that I am a stunt driver.

Thanks, chrome wheels have been against my religion for the longest time. I always thought they were tacky. But at the carshows its the only way to get attention.
I hate the maintenence of polishing them ect.

Car is dirty and the wheels still have wax on them to protect them from pitting in the garage over the winter. I still have to take out the rear isolator to bring it back down, I made the mistake of stacking, two poly isolators, alum perches, and air bags. I thought you liked the raked look...LOL

Tires are the same I had last year in the rears 285 40 18 actually larger then stock diameter. Actually had the same ride height in the rear as I did at the shootout. Tank is empty now too. You guys are just weird. :)

Fronts are 265 35 18s little shorter in the front but not by much.

Car is lighter in the front then it was last year, the billet twinscrew it a heavy MOFO, the M90 is much lighter. So the front end keeps getting higher with less weight. Hard to do much about that unless I cut the springs.

Ill clean it up over the weekend, I just put all the AC hoses back on tonight and adjusted the TB screw to get my idle back to a nice setting. Stock TBs dont have an air bleed screw, only a blade adjustment.

Ill settle the rear back down, probably over the weekend. I can slam the car back to the old days as i still have those springs, but I dont want to bounce around when doing over 100MPH as go tru the traps while Corey is still spooling.

Problem with chrome is you cannot see the details of the wheel, it just looks all shinny. But as long as it beats Damon even if pushing it Ill be ok. :p

I think youll know when its spooling when you hear fuel exploding in my turbine housing while your turning on the second set of lights:cool:. I wont be running an exhaust this year either. Better get a shift light since youll be hard of hearing.

The MSD ignition and 2 step isn't going to make that much of a differince, compared to what you had.

I think you'll be surprised at what retarding 15 degrees of timing will do.

I forgot about the timing retard feature, because I don't use it. Instead of retarding the timing to create more exhaust energy, the automatic guys usually advance the timing to get it up on the converter to the boost building RPMS quicker.

Looking forward to seeing how well it works on your car.

Just saw the making of the movie special on SPEED, they destroyed over 200 cars for the movie. The are only down to two Chargers now. They wrecked 4-5 on the last episode.

Im a fan of them, what can I say. Where else can you get a feel for the way gearheads think?

This one will be pretty big in my book lots of action, sexy girls, fast looking cars ect. There is a Pantera in the movie too. Makes want one now.

ricardoa1
05-01-2011, 09:24 PM
They do look neat in person its not sinister thats for sure, but they make the car look fancier and cleaner. Still getting used to the maintanence, what a pain they are.

I took out one set of poly isolators and adjusted the camber, Tank is still empty and the angle of the sidewalk ramp lifted the car higher in the back. Its a little more leveled then the first few pictures. I dont think I want to do the job again so thats where it will stay, if I take out the other poly set it will sag when the tank is full and there is some cargo. Like I said in the front the car still looks lowered, stock springs is a long way from the drop in this car. The fact that the tires are flush with the fender give you a feeling that the car is too high, we have large wheel wells and going any lower will not allow me to drive at high speeds. Low and Slow is not what this car is all about anymore.

Just waiting on the power mods to arrive. Zex supposedly warrantied the Controller box/solenoid so that will be good if thats the case.

Thank You for the nice comments, I tend to change wheels when I burn up my tires, its a perfect time since it costs to mount them on the rims usually over $100.

Nice, but I think the chrome looks better on my car then the black. And Ill let you take 20s" props. I cannot afford 20" tires, and I go thru them fairly quickly.

BTW on the tails there is an emblem that was really small, I have never seen another set, I took them off a GTP that was going to auction. The previous owner stuck them on the hood of that car. I carved out the bird so the emblem sit inside it, nothing really fancy.
