I am interested in whether you have gone anywhere with the Oregon SW Washington SC Chapter or local club?

We "The SCCoW" or what WAS called the SCCoNW back in the day left the SCCoA back in the Bill E. days for reasons I am not even gonna get into.

Regardless....We all left and now have our own site located at the SCCoW.com...Check us out...

We are having our annual bash at the SC Farm in Port Orchard this weekend infact...Its a blast...Keg, horseshoes, Loud Music, Burnout contest, Pool table, Air Hockey and the list goes on...We are also suppose to hit the track before all the above goes down...So visit the SCCoW...The directions to the meet are there along with many contact numbers to help you out in any way to find the place. Its actually pretty damn easy to find and everyone is easy to get along with...

Cheers,

Brad

I am collecting Names, Phone Numbers and Emails for guys in our area,
Northern Oregon / Southern Washington. When I get enough collected I will start looking at hosting a local chapter of SCCOA or more likely the SCCoW (Super Coupe Club of Washington). Then we can start talking about having some meets, Dyno runs, Shop Visits, whatever.

Being a SC owner can be painful and as the old adage goes, misery loves company.

If you are interested send your contact information (name, Phone and email) to Jim Brophy buffaloroams@yahoo.com

With the exception of myself and maybe one or two others, the guys from the SCCoW that already exists don't post or lurk here at the SCCoA...A chapter here may do OK, but the bulk of the Northwestern members are already use to using the SCCoW of today.

Regardless, good luck.

Jim,
They already have a SCC of Washington (www.SCCOW.com) and a there is always the SCC of Northwest (www.SCCONW.com -Mostly from Canada) so we need one for SW Washington / Portland metro area. I see alot of SC's around here all the time. Travis from Fast Specialties here in Vancouver has an SC. There is also someone on here from Canby Oregon too. The owner of Magnum Powers is by Hillsboro/Forest Grove Oregon. So there are lots of SC's around here.

Paul, what parts of Vancouver are you at? I'm in Minnehaha area by the Ross Power Station / Fast Specialties. Have Jim put you on the E-mailing list as we should all get together after the weather gets a little warmer.

Yeah they get pretty squirley there. :p I think the donuts were mainly from the 500HP - 1000Ft Lb Torque Diesels they were hosting...

Hey Paul,
They Stink! I can not stand the smell of those things. I will rather get a ticket trying to pass those stinking things than be stuck behind them..

Hey, there's a (about a 1990) Silver SC that parks across from K-Mart just down the street from you. It is usally in the back of the Car Rental place. I see it once in a while when I go get bent over paying my bill at the Allstate Insurance place back there.

No club around here :( , but on occasion a few of us get together. Last year around Xmas we all met up at the Portland International Raceway light show and had about 5 or 6 SC's, and we had 4 of us meet up last summer in Bend Oregon for a All Ford Car Show...

You can email James at: Buffaloroams@yahoo.com as he has some links and stuff of some thunderbirds groups around here... also My "myspace" has a link to some thunderbird enthusiasts. My space link is something like www.myspace.com\roadrashed\.....

What happened to you guys? I had a blast on the meet i came out to in Bremerton. We did the cruise and the burnout contest which I actually didn't make it in time for but is there anybody on this forum from that club? Maybe you all remember that jackass in the eclipse that raced us all one by one and lost EVERY time on our cruise? Then the track time at bremerton raceway.... I just bought my car back (Long story) and I went to look up the SCCoW and it seems to have just disappeared!! Can we get this going again? Come on guys, I know some of you are still out there!!!

Just reposting to get this thread to the top of the board. Come on people, I know there's some serious SC owners around here! I'm in Renton, WA and would love to get the Northwest going again! Rainier, Leavenworth, all the same scenic twisties I love on the bike would be great in the cars too! I'm trying to buy a 2nd SC right now so I can start tearing into my current one and making it a screamer while I drive the other, I'd love to get together with some people and have some fun!

Sorry, I know I posted back in like November trying to get this started but bear in mind that I work on generators for a living, so I'm a liiiiiittle busy right now lol. I'm still extremely interested in reviving the SCCoW. I just bought a new tranny for my 95 5 speed, looking forward to getting that installed and picking up my new wheels!! Better weather is just around the corner so let's get some meets and drives together, set it up, make it an awesome summer!!

It'll be a few months before my SC is ready for the road but I wouldn't mind meeting up with some fellow owners anyway...if you don't mind an old guy taggin' along.:)

I'm waaaaay down in Longview, though.....

Idaho is all good, it's just a hard deal figuring where the middle ground is for everyone to get together. We can figure it out for sure though. Pacific raceways test and tune sounds like a grand idea, I'm not gonna be running my car until the drivetrain work is done but I'm down to go hang out, might even bring the bike out and run that, I'd like to know what it'll do too. There's some great response happening this time around, thank you guys, let's keep this going!!

Let me know when and if you want to set up a Pacific Raceways meet I have plenty of tools and after the last halfshaft incident at test and tune should be able to get just about anybody back on the road just short of a trailer(soon to come)

I just moved up to the Seattle area (I'm actually in Bellevue just south of Lake Sam.) Actually looked at a place that was right across the street from an SC owner,(one black and one red, IIRC) not sure if they post here or not. There's also a water store at the Crossroads Mall that has an SC as a mascot car. Anyway, I'm willing to meet up pretty much any weekend and was horribly disappointed to find that there's nothing organized up here.

I've always said that Washington has two seasons: Winter and August :)

Actually, when spring finally hits, there's no better place to be....and I've lived all over. And the summers are marvelous, I think.

I spent four years up in Washington state attached to Bangor. It was cool, and I had to learn the art of BBQ'ing in the rain when it all of a sudden hit. But for a couple of those years I lived up in the Port Hadlock/Irondale area and got MUCH less rain there being in a rain shadow of the Olympics, plus the rent of houses was much less and the houses were much bigger. My buddies were paying like 750 per month for 2BR apartments, and I was paying under 500 per month for a 3BR house on half an acre... and they called me nuts! Sure the drive was kinda long. 35 miles. But hey, I was in an SC with a nice stereo, so in that car I was much happier than sitting at home watching an episode of Friends... blech!
Good luck to all you guys in the NW. I bought my current SC there in 96 from a dealer in Poulsbo (I got raped by them btw) so hopefully your chapter can take off. I almost sold the car there too, since many speeding tickets later my insurance had gone through the roof, and I couldn't afford it. Instead I ate a lot of Ramen noodles and hamburger slop and managed to keep the car. The long durations at sea helped since we got prepayed for the three months to make sure bills were payed, and then it was rather difficult to spend money while underwater.

Later!
