We finally got the Thunderbird fired up last night. Here is a short video, sorry taken with a cell phone. Also there are few few F-bombs in there too. It was a long night and a bunch of adult beverages! It still needs to be timed and an exhaust welded up. Then it tire burning time!

Just a thought--you could warn people of language on a video so they dont open it at work and cause an issue. I dont use a computer at work, but I know that a lot of people do. Besides that, sweet job!

Awesome....We need more info, though. You're cutting us short!

What are the specs of the motor/build?

As of now there are only a couple of performance parts added. I was on a low budget build, as soon as I get a new job parts will be coming. We will be timing it this afternoon and hopefully starting the exhaust tomorrow.:)

There is an Eldelbrock intake, Demon carb, and 429 exhaust manifolds. Not much but I had to start somewhere. I also did the manual brake swap and a diff. brace with a custom driveshaft. The gauge panel has been reworked and I added Phantom gauges. When that is complete I will get pictures of that up also.

could you post pics of your manual brake settup?
or a part number to what master you used?

I took one from a 1976 bronco with manual disc brakes and it works just fine to stop these cars from high speed passes at the track. I have also driven them on the street for over ten years with no issues. There is also one from a early crown vic that will work, but these I have not used...
Hope this helps you out....Rich

It does.
I figure any manual master should work.
I made a mount for our factory master to be used as a manual master.....minus the brake booster. If it doesn't work, I'll then switch to a manual master cylinder.

Give it 10degrees on the crank and have 28 built into the dist. That is a good base line to start off with. Did you put the cam at 0 or did you off set that timing as well.
Good luck and next time take it outside before you fire it up.. You might need that jack for some other project....LOL good job...Rich

Thanks Rich, right now the timing is a 12 BTDC. I just used a Ford setup spec, I'll work with the timing a bit also. Yeah, that damn jack tried to kill itself!

Let's see for specs on the engine. Not much, just an intake, exhaust, and a Demon carb. Alot of custom pieces also.

I did manual brakes on my SC and like Rich said no problems stopping. Now get rid of the bib wiring harness that runs to the back and the computer in the back to. I drove Riches big block they go really nice.

It does sound pretty mean, but have you taken the car out on the road yet ? Hard to tell how quick it is just doing garage burnouts.
