Dave,
I don't have the slicks that were on the 16" Mustang rims anymore and I'm pretty sure the rear caliper/rotor set up on the Mustang are too big for 15" rims. I traded them to John for some help with diagnosing a brake problem on my SC plus a Dynotech aluminum driveshaft for a 4.6 Bird/Mark VIII which I sold for some cash.

I guess you got tired of the turbo Kia.............:o

15" May work. It has 14"Brembo's on the front but the rear are much smaller. And yeah the Kia was nice but nothing like the 5.0 screamer I have now... two different kinds of cars though...

The reason I'm pretty sure they won't work is when a few of us hit VMP last fall John Boardman with his 2011 5.0 was going to run some slicks that Stangbanger brought with him and they were 15" rims and they wouldn't fit over the rear brakes, of course I had the M/T's on the 16" rims which I let him borrow. He proceeded to run an 11.4 with a 75 or 100 shot and wanted to buy them on the spot.

Anyways, I have a brand new set of Hoosiers 28/10.5/15 with tubes and rim screws waiting to go down the track, if they'll fit we can take turns using them. Chris might have something he can let you use between Sherm and him.

I got out of my lazy, screw the SC mood and installed the new Dynotech driveshaft, now I have to find an exhaust leak on the passenger side, I'm pretty sure it's the gasket at the head.........couldn't be the easy collector gasket, especially since I have the exhaust off from changing the driveshaft.....

Me be there. I just wanna get a new battery before then. Need to get another slick for the marauder so he can run true street. I think Ima run in the 11.0 index. Guess you guys can meet us at the east coast gas station say about 7:30.

Sounds like a plan, I'm kinda screwed in the class index times, 11.0 is too fast and 12.0 is too slow (probably). .....:o

Looking at the classes available I might run Quick Ford, at least I can dial in what I'm actually running.

I suck at the Pro .400 tree so a full tree in Quick Ford sounds double better than index class...........:D

I had alot of problems this time out, car was not performing as it has in the past. Between hot, humid weather and a slightly more complicated pre-run routine due to holding, starting and laying down the computer to datalog, 5 point harness fiasco and remembering to arm the nitrous switch after the burnout, my 2 qualifying and 1 round runs were 11.76, 12.69 and 11.90. The nitrous system didn't seem to be performing right and the 2nd run, 12.69, I forgot to arm it completely. This morning when I started the car to unload I heard a nasty sound under the hood, in short my blower is making plenty of racket, either the rotor pack went south or the snout bearing are shot. I'll start removing the blower later today, disassemble it and see what I find, hopefully it'll be repairable so that I can make it to the Shootout but as of now it doesn't look good.

Man that sucks! Blowers have been dropping like flies lately. If you need a rotor pack let me know, I have a couple extras. I also have all the parts for rebuilding the snout - I can send you parts or I can send you a rebuilt snout, either way just let me know if you need anything.

My day was exceptable. Need to check out the snow jet, just doesn't seem like its working as well as it use to. On my logs when I hit the gas the IAT would drop then start coming back up it hasn't dropped the last couple times out. So the IAT's are getting alittle high and pulling timing. If the jet looks ok I may just have to add a second jet for the summer time.

Think my hot start crap is gone, by replacing the battery. Had no problems getting back to the pits after a lap and then trying to restart.

Got to finally weigh the car in after the winter roll bar and other things and came in at 3850 with me and half tank of gas and full interior minus the DVD stereo system. I was thinking 3900 so I was close.

I red lit first round after having to wait 6 seconds to go.

My dad ran in the true street class with the marauder and got second place overall and second place in the 11 second bracket. Car was very consistent running 11.22, 11.19, and 11.25

Dang Keith, sorry to hear about the blower noise. Hope it ain't too bad. Let me know if I can help.

I have a freshly rebuilt MPX sitting on the engine which is about to go into my daughter's car.

The MPX that came off my car was over driven by 25%. The MPX started to developed a slight noise, so I pulled it a part. I found the rotor pack was just starting to hit the case near the Vee. It seems old rotor packs do not like being over spun. I have decided to only go 15% OD on my daughter's engine and use an underdrive crank pulley for the accessories. A source for good rotor packs may become an issue in the future. The GTP rotor pack is one option as it is not spun as fast the supercoupe rotor pack, so GTP rotor packs should have more life to them. I wish there was an easier way to remove the coating from a GTP rotor pack, other then spinning them at 25% OD in a MPX.

Is that an offer to let me borrow it for a couple of weeks?:D:D:D

I got the blower torn apart and the bad news is that one of the rotor pack bearings is shot, the good news is that there's no damage to the MPx case that I can tell, no scatches, gouges what so ever, looks smooth as the day i bought it. Now I just need to find a good rotor pack, I might know where to get one.;)

Todd,
I picked up an early model blower from Z today, I'll break it down this afternoon and see how the rotor pack looks, I'll let you know if I'll need to borrow your MPx or not.

I like to add that the reason it seems my nitrous system wasn't working correctly was sometime between when I last time I calibrated the nitrous management unit to now it must have been erased. After getting home I checked it out and with the motor off & arming switch on I opened the throttle wide open and the nitrous solenoid didn't click/open, re-calibrated it and now it clicks/opens at WOT. I'm ready to get the blower put back together and hit VMP this Friday for hopefully a good test session with some decent times........
