Nice times. I like that .512 reaction time. Hopefully that one was during the bracket class:)

I keep waiting for everyone else to post their times from the shootout. I wish I could have been there but work had other plans.

09-27-2011, 03:20 PM
most of those are just practice runs:)

09-28-2011, 12:24 AM
You need some drag radials to get those 60ft's consistent. Even the standard nitto's will do that. I was surprised how long they lasted being my everyday tire. Didn't hugely drop my et's but made them very consistent.

09-28-2011, 12:53 AM
I was on MT street...car wasn't quite dialed in and was bogging at the line:confused: Only had it running 2 wks before the shootout...

I looked back on my slips from 2 months ago when I went to an 1/8th track with my stock car and did much better 60 ft times

09-28-2011, 05:47 PM
what tree were you guys leaving on mel? pro or sportsman?

09-28-2011, 06:01 PM
sportsman I think

09-28-2011, 06:16 PM
Was your car still running really rich, Melissa?

09-28-2011, 06:31 PM
yes...and still is untill we can get the wideband communicating with BE

09-28-2011, 08:39 PM
why not just take some fuel out of it by adjusting the MAF curve? if you're running 11.0 and commanded afr is 11.6, then find the percentage difference which would be 6% in this scenario, and take out 6% in the part of the maf transfer where you're running rich. if one person is driving, and the other is looking at the laptop, you can find what maf voltage the car runs rich and lean it out a little bit in that area of the curve.

09-28-2011, 08:41 PM
I don't know you or your car, so forgive me if I came out of left field with that last post. just trying to help

09-28-2011, 08:41 PM
if it was a sportsman tree the yellow lite will count down one at a time, so leave on the last yellow. that will start you on your way to some really good reaction times. then you can fine tune your style.

09-28-2011, 09:03 PM
I mainly posted these just as a archive for my times, I seem to loose them so... Yeah at the end I wasn't concerned with rt times, was practicing a few other things...as far as the tunning...yes we know to adjust the maf curve but don't want to do so without a proper working system. It's not that bad...just not optimum for racing:)

Well got to a 1/8 mile track last night...beautiFALL weather...

ended up doing about .3 better (on 1/8th times) than the shootout

ran street tires

Bunker Hill

I spaced these out but it's not showing that way sorry

Andy (DRIFTINGTHUNDER) and I were matched pretty well

me andy
s ported 94/95 mpx
60 lb inj 36 lb inj
mp intercooler double intercooler
both about same rad, CAI, TB

It is SOOOOO much more fun running along a good match!!! And it was nice to be up there and NOT have the slowest thing on the track, like with my black car.
Street tires did much better,:) untill new gears

still need to get tune tweeked a little, having idle, dying, or hesitating from a stop issues

Judging by your guys' 60' times I think traction might have been an issue but good runs non the less. That was a pretty fair race between you and Andy i think. It's great to see a couple of evenly matched super coupes battling it out. That must have been fun. :)

oh it was!!!! Yeah they were saying how that track sucks for traction. SHould have vid link to them soon:) check back to watch how close we were!

I was comparing my 60', 1/8 speed, and 1/8 ETs from my pre-MPx days to what we did yesterday, and I am ashamed to say that the car is exactly the same. My 1/8th E/Ts are basically the same, speeds are the same, and 60' are the same. I'm not really sure what's wrong. It was definitely a lot faster before this week. :( To the lab I guess!

I'm still blown away by the heat soak difference. Your car stayed so much cooler than mine, and I think my rad is actually a bit better if anything. More efficient blower as well... Your MP intercooler is a contributor for sure, but we really think I'm running out of injector prowess up top and still leaning out, generating extra heat.

Thanks again for letting me try out the slicks, Mel! I suq, but it was a good learning experience and fun time. My 60' were only like .08 faster with them though, I really don't know what I'm doing on them. I also kept rolling back when staged and trying to rev up. Not too sure about Bunker Hill...

At the end of the day though, I'm really happy that we had close races. You're right, it's a lot more fun like that. I'm not at all trying to be a Debbie Downer, I'm actually glad! :)

EDIT: I wish I would have gotten your slide with screaming little girls in the back on camera. That was adorable!

10-09-2011, 03:53 AM
someone might prossecute me for child endangerment...like I said I don't play with anything I don't feel totally comfotable with esp. with my babies...they love it like a rollar coaster:)

yeah it's funny...I basically have about the same times as last fall before my upgrades too:confused:

I loved the sound of the mpx...i have only heard them on more modded cars...one of my next bigger steps for me:)

yeah I don't even know if i have totally figured the slicks out

10-09-2011, 03:54 AM
here's the fb link to the first race between Andy and I

if I get more, will post them too!

I really should have warmed them up more and revved it higher, but they were yours, I didn't want to shorten their life much. After watching that a couple of times though, I think I should have at least made them worth the time we took switching to them. They hooked really well the way I babied them though haha!

I think you getting an MPx is an excellent idea! you have more of the supporting mods than I do, and I think it's one of the best things I've purchased for my car, probably tied for 1st with my radiator. You really ought to get a higher stall converter though. I think that would at least cover up your hesitation issues and would certainly boost your launches! My car hesitates a bit too, I just don't have to worry about it much, with a 5-speed it isn't very relevant.

By the way, I really like the way your car sounds as well. What mufflers are you using? It kinda sounds like mine but quieter, and sometimes I think mine is too loud. :) People were always telling me my blower was always so loud and they couldn't hear my exhaust, so I went with Super 44s. Droners though. :(

I like the video where you race Robert and your girls are cheering after you pass him up, haha!

Nice video! Great race between you too. Loved the sound of those blowers whining!

10-10-2011, 02:25 AM
Not exactly sure on the mufflers, but exhaust is scp down tubes, catless, then singlw pipe after the transmission then splits into 2 flowmasters...yeah I like the sound of it too...but when you get on it it can sound kinda farty. But not much drone.

10-10-2011, 05:46 AM
Trying really hard to make my car look fast with that one! haha! Nice pic. :)

10-10-2011, 08:31 AM
not really, just the only way to make an ok expsosure at night with no tripod, if I hadn't panned it it would be a fuzzy blob going by...by hey it works!
