I looked at a lot of things before I found this. I had a new motor, and it idled horribly, worse when cold. It would even stall a lot. Turns out, it was the vacuum tube under the thick rubber hose from the MAF to the throttle body. The old rubber cracked, it tore, and it was a huge vacuum leak in a really bad place.
