I am redoing the head gaskets on my car and want to port the stock exhaust. I have been looking for pics of what to port and what not to. Any one have some pics?

I just removed the lip. here's the before and after.

Regards

Sean

Thanks I think that is what I was looking for. Every one I have talked to said to port them so I'm going to do it since I'm doing head gaskets.

If you are going to do the work it would be better to get the 94-95 ones.

ANY 94-95 manifolds. They are all the same.

You can even take a little more out than just the lip as well. Here's what one of the ones tydlwav's sold me looked like compared to what I pulled off of my car:

What is the difference between the early model and late model manifolds? The ones I took off of my car looked basically just like the early model ported ones.

mine looked like SDW's pics. no polishing, nothing fancy and off my 93. Didn't touch the runners. Squeaked out over 400 rwhp with them. I'd say stock exhaust manifolds don't need much work other than that lip. anything else is nice, but completely unnecessary.

Not sure if the castings are universal- I think there's some give and take.

I got 1.97 on one side and 2.02 on the other. (late model)

polishing to a mirror like surface will make them slick. standard porting and polishing tools will work just fine.
