Anyone ship a fender?

I shipped a pair of fenders a few years ago....

I think it was close to 40 pounds and I shipped it UPS freight.....

I wrapped them up in carpet padding them shrink wrapped them....

It looked like a T-rex ham....:D
 
I had a door shipped to me. 500 miles and it was $100. To have an engine shipped that same distance is $300. I work for Con-Way and thats my cost, and we don't get a price break. You may also call grey hound and see what they charge. I hear they are pretty good on prices.
