Push rods and springs

I got my new regrind back (224@.050 with 510 lift) and my cam guy said he recommended I use a push rod that's .060 longer than stock to help maintain spring pressure. Anyone heard of that? I'm putting in new ones anyway but should they be .060 longer?

Also, does anyone know how much lift a new stock spring can handle? I've seen people have theirs tested up to 525 lift.

I don't know about the length, your cam grinder would know, but the idea is that the base circle of the cam was reduced to give you the higher lift, so yes, you will need longer pushrods.

about .480 total lift is all the higher most recommend for STOCK valvesprings. If the cam grinder told you .060 longer pushrods then thats what you need UNLESS you have your heads milled? then subtract that amount from the .060
