Is it possible to drop the engine out the bottom, I'm in the process of pulling a good engine from a wrecked car, just checking before I unbolt the k member and it doesn't work

Yeah, unbolt the K member and the struts and it will drop out. Or you can leave the struts in, but I prefer to pull them too.
