Timing ring position question.

So I think we found the reason the 94 SC wont start after we installed a new HJb ballancer. When we had this thing apart 1 year ago we opened up the holes to the timing ring to allow us to bolt it on(some thing was wrong with the fit). I had a guy working for us install the ring on the new ballancer and he said it would bolt on in a number of postions. Is there a way to identify if the ring is postioned correctly? I read something in a search I did on here about the timing mark or key way. Can we use either of them for making sure the ring is in the right position. Or do you know where we can order a new timing ring.
Thanks for all your help

The stock balancer and the BHJ unit have the bolts offset to match the reluctor ring. Thus ensuring it can only go on one way. Maybe someone has one off their car and try to let you know how far from the offset hole the missing tooth of the reluctor ring should be.
