Also if the machine shop is worth anything you need the pistons BEFORE it gets bored. Bore block to pistons not pistons to block.
 
Agreed. Not all pistons are created equal. :) I machine each hole for each piston and file fit each ring for each hole. It makes a world of difference. I also use the gram scale and balance the rods and pistons.
 
wo in the case im taking a ride over there tomorrow to talk to him about it.
they've been building motors or staten island since better i was a twinkle in my dads eye. we'll see what he says.
