I snapped my output shaft of my tranny and i need to replace it. Should I attempt to do it myself? The tranny is already down and out. I took the top cover off and everything looks fine. The gears are clean, and the shifting forks look good. Does anyone have any tips to rebuilding it. Or should i Just have it sent out. I want to keep the cost down to a minimum and the tranny does not need to be rebuilt.....just needs a new output shaft. I think I can do it, but are there any things that i need to look out for? What wear should I look for? Can I replace the front bearing, the one for the input shaft right after the bellhousing, without tearing apart the tranny. I would like to do all this myself but i need some more info. Any place to get a good book that has diagrams of trannys, and instructions??? Thanks alot.
