Aluminum driveshafts: 3.5 vs. 4 inches

While I have the trans out of my SC, I'm thinking about buying a 3.5 inch driveshaft to replace the 4-inch version I have now. The 4-inch DS is a pain in the butt to install and remove, and I have to shim the pumpkin and trans mount very carefully to avoid rubbing on the gas tank shield. It just seems like overkill at this point.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't? Has anyone with similar power levels (377 rwhp, 459 lb-ft) had any problems with the 3.5 inch DS? Is my one drag race a year going to give it any problems?

I'll have 2.73 gears, so I don't think I'll be spinning it all that fast.
