Disc brakes

I just changed wheels on my bird and noticed the disc had micro fractures in them. I have +/- 10,000 miles on them and I do very little hard braking (only when necessary) Is this a normal problem with our cars?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks all.

Are these drilled/slotted rotors or stock pieces? I wouldn't call it normal, but it isn't uncommon with cheap drilled rotors.

No, they're plain jane off the shelf stock rotors. It's my DD so it doesn't get any kind of beating either. The micro fractures look like the kind that happens from riding the brakes and over heating the rotors. I have seen this type of microfracturing, but it has always been from some one that drives with one foot on the gas and the other foot on the brake. I don't drive that way, its too dangerous, and besides that, its a bad habit.
