I just wanted to post up that the JBMN SB11 will be held August 24-26, 2012 in Martinsburg WV. It is open to ALL MN12/FN10/Supercoupes and Fox body Cougar and Thunderbirds, Lincoln Mark VIII's, ETC.

As usual we will be having a Police Escort, Picnic, Car show and Awards ceremony.

We are in the process of trying to secure a 4-hour block at Mason Dixon Dragway on Saturday for those that want to race or come and watch. The price will be $75.00 per car & 1 Passenger for the 4 hours of non stop test & tune and grudge match racing. We need to know as soon as possible who would like to attend this drag day event so we can collect funds to secure the track rental.

Only the Listed cars will be able to participate in the actual car show although I will allow the others to show their car as long as it is a FORD product.

**** The Racing portion all FORD products will be allowed to run in. :) I plan to extend this invitation to other Local Ford groups to make the numbers if necessary.

Room rentals are now set up. You can contact the hotel for bookings at this time.
Room Rentals will be $72.00 a night at the group rate!!!! We have a block of 20 rooms. Reservations must be made NLT than August 10th! Afterwards the remaining rooms go back to the hotel. Please state you are with the Thunderbird Car club and whether you want smoking or non-smoking.

For those that want to share a room, find someone thats coming and split the costs! We want to make this as afFORDable as possible to those that want to attend.

Below is the itinerary for this years JBMN SB 11 event. As hard as I try to keep costs in place and have done so the past couple years unfortunately this year the price has gone up slightly. (Cost of food and Venue) However its still affordable and I believe everyone will like the accomodations, scheduling and change of venue this year!!!!

The Itinerary will be as follows:

Friday August 24th - Meet and Greet party at my home starting at 5PM until - ?

Saturday August 25th -

(1) MAMN12 Track Rental at Mason Dixon. Registration 7:30 AM-Racing begins at 8 AM
(Attendees have option to attend track rental, relax, shop or free time Saturday morning!!)

(2) We will meet at the Comfort Inn and cruise to Hagerstown at approximatley 3 PM. We will be going to a new all you can eat buffet there then head to Valley Mall for the Saturday car show. We should be there before 5PM. We'll park there for a couple hours and have a good time conversing and looking at the other cars. (Bring a chair). We can then head to Petrucci's around 7:30 and get some Ice Cream like last year. After that your choice.

Sunday August 26th - 10:00 Am Line up at Comfort Inn. Police escort 10:30 to Inwood to the Car show and banquet site at Heritage Hall. Car show will begin shortly after 11 AM until approximately 1PM. Our picnic/Dinner/Awards ceremony will begin at 1:00 until approximatel 3PM. At that time those that need to depart can and the rest of us can meet at the hotel parking lot for evening debriefing.

Costs this year are as follows:

Car/Driver/Racing including Picnic- $95.00

Car/Driver/Racing including Picnic with passenger- $115.00

Car/Driver (Non Racing) including Picnic- $20.00

Car/Driver (Non Racing) including picnic with passenger: $40.00

Children 6 - 10 are $8.00. Children 5 and under are free!!!

The Buffet in Hagerstown is $10.00 each plus drinks. Something there for everyone. The meet and greet is FREE and is sponsored by the Bender family (Rick & Harriet) and Mtncatracing. You must bring your own bottle but other drinks will be provided.

I'll have Karen post her information here so we can start getting those reservations coming. Please indicate number of individuals coming, car type & number of cars, etc

Ok Folks.

I feel comfortable enough to make the track day a go.

I also need to make a couple things VERY clear on this!

1). We need to get the funds in for all those that plan to participate on this as soon as possible so I can get this track venue held for us.

2) Once we have our down payment we need to insure we get the minimum full 30 cars in whatever means as possible. I would particulary like to fill it with mostly MN 12's/FN10's but all our Ford and Mercury companions are welcome. There may also be a couple brand X's there as well.

My plans are to have an hour or two of morning test and tune and have lanes set up for grudge match racing from 10AM till noon with continued test and tune for those just wanting to do that. I would also like to see if we could get a lady (Female) grudge match set up as well. I think some of us guys would like to see that.

Remember proper NHRA safety equipment will be required! I'll work with tech on this but don't expect to be running 11.40's without a bar or 13.9's without a helmet. Most of the other cars in the group are good with helmets, possible DS loops, and the proper clothing based on ET. Remember also we won't be running in the dead heat of the afternoon but it still may be warm in the morning and will likely get warmer as it progresses. Therefore E.T's likely will not be where you are normally used to seeing them in the fall of the year at other tracks. This is Mason Dixon Dragway in the summer for those that have not raced here before. Regardless, we will still have fun! Hopefully we will have some newbies join in and try out their luck. Your quickest individual E.T. of the day will be the one chosen and placed on the Summer blast Drag list. If the event is rained out, (Called by Mason Dixon) our money will be returned, otherwise it will not!

Payments can be made to Karen via Pay Pal or snail mail by check/money order. She can post that information in this thread below. AS SOON as she has the minumum for the deposit I'll have it sent to me and be taking care of that with the track. Payment is $75.00 and that includes car/driver and one spectator free.

We look forward to seeing some of you there. :)

As of today the JBMN SB Track rental deposit has been secured and should be posted on their site sometime later this week. Thanks to all those that have sent the pre-pays in. Now we need to get the others in and insure we get the required 30+ cars.

The plan will be to leave Martinsburg Comfort Inn at approximately 6:30 AM Saturday morning August 25th. We will head to Mason Dixon and arrive there approximately 7:15 AM. We will begin registrations shortly thereafter.

Each driver will be required to fill out the appropriate tech card, and given an arm band for the driver. I will be teching along with a track tech prior to the cars running. No shorts, tank tops, and shoes are required. Appropriate Helmets required for 13.99 and quicker. 11.49 must also have a bar and 5 point harness. Basic NHRA requirements.

I plan to have Bill (Uncaged 94) available for pictures at the track wall prior to the burnout entrance before racing. He will also be taking some pics during the event. I expect Trunk Monkey and others will also be taking some pics/vids. More on this later.

The plan is to run T & T 8:00 AM till 10:00 AM then grudge racing from 10:00 till 12. Those not wanting to grudge race and additional cars will be lined up in an additional 2 lanes to run between the grudge match runs.

There should be plenty of opportunity to get passes in and even tuning if necessary.

Those needing race fuel must bring their own. The track fueling station will NOT be open for our event.

Ok Folks,

Here is the final itinerary for SB this year!

Friday August 24th- Meet and Greet at my home beginning at 5:00 PM until ? Food and some drinks will be furnished. Bring an appetite and your OWN alcoholic beverages. Soda's and tea will be provided. Weather permitting, I will have the garage available for those that need to swap over to drag radials on their cars. They will be secured in my garage until after Saturdays Test and Tune. I will also hold a Drivers meeting that evening around 7PM so everyone is aware of how we will be running the T & T on Saturday.

Saturday August 25th- We will plan to meet at the Comfort Inn approximately 6:30 AM and depart the Comfort Inn parking lot at 6:45 AM. There will be no waiting and we will leave on time. I have to get set up over there for registrations. Myself, Mike Siska and a couple others know the way there. If you are running late catch up with someone. Registration at the gate will be at 7:30. Everyone should be prepaid or if not can pay Friday evening or at the gate on Saturday morning. (1) spectator is allowed per paid car into the event. The more that is completed prior the easier it will be Saturday morning. At the gate you will receive a Tech Card, sign waivers and so forth then proceed to the pit area and prepare your car to run. I have set up with the track to have pics taken of the drivers next to the Mason Dixon wall for pictures on Saturday by Bill (Uncaged 94). I will be performing tech on the cars and may have a Mason Dixon tech there as well. PLEASE insure you have the correct helmet, clothing and safety equipment on the car for ET when you come through tech. We plan on running beginning at 8:00. My plan is to have Mike Siska and his bird go through the box first so those that are not familiar with running can see how it is done (Burnout and staging).

We will run test and tune until about 10:00. After that we will have some heads up grudge racing. Those just wanting to continue test and tune can line up in lanes 3-4 and after the grudge runs in lanes 1-2 are complete the test and tune runs will continue. I want to keep it as orderly as possible so we can get as much run time in as possible. At 12:00 noon we will be leaving the track and heading back to Martinsburg. Those that need to change tires back over can do so at that time or wait until later in the evening.

Those not wanting to attend the track event have the morning free to shop, site see, etc.

Saturday 3PM- We will meet again at the Comfort Inn and leave to go to Hagerstown to the buffet. I have made arrangements for us to have a seperate room there. The cost for that is approximately $11.00 per person and has a wide assortment of foods from which to choose.

Once we've completed our meal those that choose can go over to the Car show at Valley Mall. We'll try to go in as a group this time. We'll plan to stay there a couple of hours till around 7:30 or so then head back to Martinsburg.

Sunday August 25- We'll meet at the Comfort Inn at 9:30 AM. We will proceed by police escort to Inwood WV to Heritage Hall for the Car show. We will set up there and have the car show from 11 AM till Approximatley 1 PM. At 1:00 PM we will be holding our dinner and awards ceremony. We should conclude the event at approximately 3:00 PM then everyone is free to head home, to the hotel, etc. Unlike in past years, we will not be able to have everyone out to the house afterwards on Sunday due to Linda's work schedule. However we can meet at the hotel or make some other arrangements for a debrief get together either at the Comfort Inn or something. We'll play that by ear.

As of August 4th There were still 11 rooms available in the block. Keep trying to call them. Not sure what the problem is but you should be able to get hold of them.

Also, the track rental is now open to ANY MAKE OR BRAND TO fill the track rental portion. So if your stuff is broken and you want to come and run the track with something else, make it happen!!!!

Besides, these birds and cats need something else to feed on besides each other LOL!!! Remember 4 hours T & T all you can run.

The car show classes will be comprised of Thunderbird, SC, Lincoln Mark VIII, and Cougar/Foxbody combined.

The All Ford Drag races Sponsored by the Mid-Maryland Ford Club are at Mason-Dixon are on Sun 8/26.
There is also a weekly car show at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown on Saturday evening.
Because of the All Ford Drag Racing on Sunday there are usually alot of nice Fords at the carshow.

The All Ford Drag races Sponsored by the Mid-Maryland Ford Club are at Mason-Dixon are on Sun 8/26.
There is also a weekly car show at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown on Saturday evening.
Because of the All Ford Drag Racing on Sunday there are usually alot of nice Fords at the carshow.

We normally run and or show at the All Ford event however we have changed things around this year. We are having a private track rental on Saturday and heading to Valley Mall in the late afternoon/evening. We will hold our Car show,picnic and awards ceremony on Sunday.

I expect we will arrive at Valley Mall sometime around 5PM or so.

I finalized plans at the venue for catering last night. We are set to go.

I have everything in place for the Police Escort up 81 to the car show site venue as of yesterday. We should have more than adequate parking for the show and any other support vehicles with us. We will be departing from the Comfort Inn parking lot at 10:00 AM Sharp. We have approximately a 20 Minute drive plus set up there. I need to have the car show started prior to 11O'clock. We HAVE to be finished the show by 1:00 PM. The Dinner/Picnic starts then. We must be completed the dinner and awards ceremony by 3:00 PM.

This years order line-up and cruise to the show will be Cougars, Foxbodies, Lincolns, Thunderbird LX, then SC's. I plan to lead the pack this year. The past honorary members (Joels, Chris, JP, Siska's car) will be parked together in one place TBD once we have everyone else parked.

We'll set up a Tent City with easy ups next to the site. Again, everyone please bring a chair.

The festivities begin in 1 Week from today. COME JOIN US!!!! :D

We had a wonderful time and other than a little wet time Sunday morning it all went well.
