After market Tachs

Who all has a aftermarket tach in their car? I have a Autometer Monster tach that I took out of my Mustang since I'm redoing the interior and was thinking of putting it in the SC.

Where is the best place to mount a tach in a SC? Any pictures would be helpful to help me decide where to put mine.

Anything I should know about hooking it up? Ive never installed a tach on a coil pack car so I'm not really sure where to connect the signal wire that would normally go the negative side of the coil.

these cars have enough dash crack problems but to each his own. I think the trunk would be sturdy enough to support a monster tach lol. I have thought about trying to find a place for a shift light though.

Having the shift light is the main reason I was wanting to use it. That and I'm not sure exactly how accurate the stock tach is.

Personally I installed a big tach and can't wait till I redo my instrument cluster with a custom one that will accept all my gauges. I just soldered the green signal wire to the signal of the factory tach at the back of the cluster and it works perfect. I bought the msd tach adapter and never used it and if you would prefer to go that way I would sell it way cheaper than you can buy it. Here is a pic of my tach install although I must say I personally wish it was in my cluster. I am luck enough to have an extra plastic trim piece to replace the piece I had to drill holes in :(.
