FYI - jackshaft bearing on my '90 SC went bad. It was making noise like an internal engine part was bad.
Attached photo shows what the guts of the bearing look like. A number of the ball bearings were missing - ground up when the plastic ball bearing holder broke.
The bearing will come apart if a punch is used on the grease seals. Because the bearings were bad, the shaft virtually fell out.
Replaced the bad bearing by purchasing a used accessory bracket with the bearing.
